Privacy Policy
Effective September 12, 2026
Hollid ("we," "us") is a social app for celebrating holidays — sharing posts, decorations, recipes, and a community marketplace. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication (a Google service); we never see or store your password ourselves. You also choose a username, an avatar, and optionally your favorite holidays.
Content you create. Posts, photos, captions, comments, challenge entries, marketplace listings, purchase requests, and reports you submit are stored so we can show them in the app.
Activity. Likes, bookmarks, saved collections, follows, blocked users, post views, poll votes, reviews you leave, and challenge votes.
Device and diagnostics. If you enable notifications, we store a push notification token for your device. We collect crash reports and basic device information through Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix bugs.
What we don't collect: We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing history. We do not show ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate the app — showing your posts and listings to other users is the point of a social app
- To send notifications you've opted into (likes, comments, order updates)
- To keep the community safe — reviewing reports, enforcing guidelines, and honoring blocks
- To diagnose and fix crashes and bugs
What Other Users Can See
Your username, avatar, posts, comments, listings, follower counts, and badges are visible to other Hollid users. Your email address is never shown to other users.
Marketplace & Payments
Marketplace payments are processed by Stripe, not by Hollid. When you buy something, your card details go directly to Stripe — Hollid never receives or stores them. We keep a record of the order itself (items, amounts, and a Stripe payment reference) so buyers and sellers can track and, if needed, refund it.
Sellers must complete identity and payout verification with Stripe before listing. Stripe collects that information — including identity documents and bank account details — directly, and Hollid does not receive or store it. We share your email address with Stripe so it can contact you about your seller account, and we store whether your account is verified and able to receive funds.
Any information you choose to share with another user — such as a shipping address — is shared at your own discretion.
Service Providers
Hollid runs on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, and Crashlytics). Your data is processed and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure under Firebase's privacy and security terms. Marketplace payments and seller verification are handled by Stripe under Stripe's privacy policy. We do not share your data with any other third parties, except if required by law.
Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete Account, which removes your profile, posts, and associated data. You can also email us to request deletion.
Children
Hollid is not directed at children under 13, and you may not use Hollid if you are under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access is restricted by server-side security rules so users can only modify their own content.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app.
